China Eastern, China Southern Will Move to Beijing New Airport

China Eastern and China Southern Airlines recently announced plans to move to Beijing New Airport when it opens in 2019. 

Air China and other Star Alliance member carriers will remain at Beijing Capital Airport. 

Beijing New Airport, located in Daxing in the southeast part of Beijing, is projected to handle annual passenger volume of 45 million in 2020, 72 million in 2025, and 100 million in the longer term. 

It is expected to serve Beijing, Tianjin and the Hebei province. 

In addition to China Eastern and China Southern Airlines, Hebei Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines and China Postal Group also will move to Beijing New Airport.
