WorldVentures Foundation Supports Children with Disabilities in Bankstown on Volunteer Day

The WorldVentures Foundation™ partnered with the Recreation Sports and Aquatics Club (RSAC) in Bankstown to hold a volunteer day in support of providing recreational activities for children with disabilities.

The WorldVentures Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the international travel membership company, WorldVentures, which offers unique, customised vacations known as DreamTrips to thousands of members across the globe.

The Volunteer Day aimed to enhance motor skills and build self-confidence of the children through recreational activities. The volunteer day attracted over 50 volunteers from the Australian membership base, who participated in activities with the children at RSAC.

As a special treat, a Magic Show was staged for the children during the Volunteer Day. The Magic Show was a highlight activity prior to the prize ceremony and barbeque lunch.

The volunteer day was held on Friday, 7 October 2016 at Bankstown Memorial Oval (Chapel Road South and Macauley Avenue, Bankstown) from 8.30am to 12.30pm.

In addition to donating their time to interact and create smiles for children with disabilities from RSAC, WorldVentures Foundation is also facilitating to fundraise through their platform to the RSAC.

Established in 2010, the WorldVentures Foundation is committed to enrich the lives of children worldwide through sustainable programs that promote the health and well-being of children and youth. The Foundation contributes about 25,000 hours of volunteer hours annually and had bring about positive changes in 30 countries thus far, with both figures set to increase in the near future.

“Every organisation has a mission. Ours is simple, and from the heart. We create positive change in the lives of children all over the world. That means supporting and partnering with organisations like the Recreation Sports and Aquatics Club that promote the health, happiness, safety and development of children and youth,” said Yvonne Siow, Foundation Director, WorldVentures Foundation.

The Recreation, Sports and Aquatics Club (RSAC), is an unfunded community based organisation that provides sport, recreation, social activities and opportunities for people with a disability. The RSAC supports people with disability, their carers and families to provide programs and activities that encourage life fulfilment and personal happiness.

Many of the representatives and members involved in the volunteer day have also participated in a training event that will see over 3,000 people from around the region gather at Sydney Olympic Park.

Corporate volunteering is a growing trend in Australia. Research from Flinders University suggests Volunteering may contribute as much as $290 billion of economic value to the nation*.

“There is so much enthusiasm from our reps to really make a difference in the lives of kids around the world. Our charitable work in Bankstown today is a great example of how we aid to manifest a positive change to the lives of local community across Australia as we grow here,” said Yvonne Siow.
