Mount Barker Co-operative Grapes and Gallops Festival

Locals and visitors to the area can enjoy a day of great food and wine, fashion and horse racing at the Mount Barker Co-operative Grapes and Gallops Festival.

Throughout the day there will be ten horse races plus local wineries will be showcasing their award winning wines and regional food.

There will also be a range of activities on offer for the whole family to enjoy.

MORE than 2000 people are expected to enjoy fine wine, fashion and racing at the Mount Barker Cooperative Mt Barker Grapes & Gallops at Frost Park on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017.

Under the big tent, racegoers will be able to sample wines from nine Mt Barker producers including Arcadia, Galafrey, Gilberts, West Cape Howe, Plantagenet Wines, and Hawkers Ridge. A range of regional produce will be available including fresh cherries and strawberries, French pastries, local cheeses, stuffed spuds, gourmet pizzas and freshly shucked Albany oysters.

Grapes & Gallops is the biggest event on the Mount Barker Turf Club's calendar. This exciting race day features a 9-race program and includes one of the Great Southern's richest race, the $100,000 Mungrup Stud Sprint over 1300 metres.
